103 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for the Environment the number of home loans which have been sanctioned by the Housing Finance Agency for the 12 month period from September 1989 to August 1990; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
No loans have been sanctioned by the Housing Finance Agency for the period in question. The approval and subsequent payment of public sector housing loans has been the responsibility of the relevant local authorities since 1 July 1986. The number of such approvals in the 12 month period from 1 October 1989 to 30 September 1990 was 1,175.
