Vol. 404 No. 2

Written Answers. - Appointment of Dental Surgeon.

William Cotter

Question:

113 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Health if he will outline when the North-Eastern Health Board will be in a position to provide a dentist to serve the Clones area in County Monaghan; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The North-Eastern Health Board do not have the dental manpower at present to locate a dental surgeon in Clones but arrangements have been made by the board to provide dental treatment for persons living in Clones. The North-Eastern Health Board have continued to experience difficulty in recruiting dental surgeons. Vacancies have been advertised through the Local Appointments Commission and efforts are continually being made to appoint temporary dental surgeons where there are vacancies in the permanent staffing.
