Vol. 404 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Exhibition of Geological Collection.

John Bruton

Question:

2 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Taoiseach when the proposed extensive and representative exhibition of the geological material currently in the National Museum and promised in his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 3 of 19 June, 1990 was or will be opened to the public.

A more extensive and representative exhibition of the National Museum's geological collection has been prepared for display at the Merrion Row premises and is now open to the public.

The question is similar to a question I put down on 19 June last. May I ask the Taoiseach if he would make time to visit the exhibition? While the curator has done everything possible much remains to be done about the way and means the geological collection is on display. Many pieces have not been put on display because of a lack of finance and space. Will the Taoiseach consider enhancing the resources of the Museum in some way so that it could do better justice to the collection?

We have a lot to do diaidh ar ndiaidh.
