77 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Energy if he will outline the estimated working life of the peat burning station at Bellacorick, County Mayo; if he will give an assurance that this station will continue in operation until bog areas suitable have been used to agreed levels; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The peat burning station at Bellacorick is an important element of the ESB's overall generating capacity. It will continue to be so for the foreseeable future and certainly well into the next century.
