96 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for the Environment the action he plans to take in response to the local government and Public Service Union's claim for a salary increase on behalf of grades 4, 5, 6 and 7 employees within local authority service; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
A claim for a revision in the salary, pay and conditions of officers in the Grades IV to VII categories in local authorities was registered by the parties to the conciliation and arbitration scheme for local government and health services on 29 November 1990. The claim will be processed through the normal machinery of the conciliation and arbitration scheme.
