Question:

161 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the allocation in 1991, for the strengthening of forest access roads, to Leitrim County Council; and the amount of the allocation for each of the years between 1983 and 1990.

During the period 1980 to 1990, the following road grants were paid to Leitrim County Council specifically for the improvement of forest access roads:

In addition of these grants, it was open to the local authority to use the discretionary grants for regional and county roads, provided annually by my Department, to undertake works on forest access roads. These grants totalled £8.25 million over the period in question in the case of County Leitrim.
The 1991 road grant allocations have not yet been determined.

Question:

162 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the housing allocation for Leitrim County Council in 1991; and the amount allocated in each of the year's between 1983 and 1990.

I assume that the question relates to the capital allocations for the local authority's housing construction programme. I refer to Questions Nos. 295, 296 and 313 of 31 January 1991 in relation to the allocation for 1991. I refer to the reply to Question No. 34 of 4 May 1989 which gives the final allocations for the years 1983 to 1988, inclusive. The final allocations in 1989 and 1990 were £265,900 and £511,000, respectively.
