Vol. 404 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Donegal Speed Limit Sign.

Patrick D. Harte

Question:

166 Mr. Harte asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a proposal from Donegal County Council for the erection of a 40 mile speed limit on the Ballymagan road between a point 289 metres north-east of its junction with Cockhill Bridge and a point 138 metres north of its junction with the Westbrook road; and if he will sanction the proposal without further delay.

Donegal County Council submitted proposals to my Department in September last for changes to speed limits at a number of locations including that referred to in the question. When submitting these proposals, the council advised that they proposed to seek Garda agreement to a number of further amendments to the existing limits and that the necessary documentation would be submitted in due course. When this latter submission is received, the overall position will be considered.
