Vol. 404 No. 6

Written Answers. - Anniversary of 1916 Rising.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

169 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make a special financial allocation to local authorities to enable each to adequately and properly mark the 75th anniversary of the 1916 Rising; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are no funds at my disposal which would enable me to make a special financial allocation to local authorities for this purpose. It is, in any event, open to local authorities to mark the anniversary in a variety of ways which would not involve significant expenditure.
