Vol. 404 No. 6

Written Answers. - European Environmental Agency.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

174 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects the EC Council of Ministers to agree on the location of the seat of the European Environmental Agency; the criteria used for the selection of Ireland's representative on the management board of that agency; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The location of the European Environment Agency is under consideration by the EC General Affairs Council along with decisions on the permanent location of a range of existing and prospective institutions.

A suitable Irish representative will be nominated to the management board of the agency at the appropriate time.
