201 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education the percentage of students attending university who (a) receive a full higher education grant; (b) receive a partial higher education grant; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

In the 1988-89 academic year — the latest year for which the information requested by the Deputy is available — 35,820 full-time students attended university; 9,820 (27 per cent) of these received a full higher education grant; 3,216 (9 per cent) received a partial grant.
