204 Tomás Mac Giolla asked the Minister for Education when she will be in a position to give approval to County Donegal Vocational Education Committee for the proposed purchase of school equipment for the post-primary school on Arranmore Island, County Donegal.
An allocation of £10,000 was made by my Department to County Donegal Vocational Education Committee on 18 October 1990. This allocation was considered adequate to purchase sufficient equipment to allow the small number of pupils attending the Arranmore school to follow the junior certificate course to the end of the 1990-91 school year. In the near future my Department will, in consultation with the Vocational Education Committee, assess the school's equipment requirements for the school year 1991-92.
