Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 (3) (a), and the name of the Member in each case: Deputy Browne, Carlow-Kilkenny, the subject matter of Question No. 26 of 28 November 1990 regarding car lamps which cannot be dimmed properly and are a danger on the road at night time; Deputy O'Toole, the question of coastal erosion caused by the storms on 5 January 1991; Deputy Nealon, the refusal of the Department of the Environment to provide 100 per cent funding for the repair of defective chimneys in tenant purchased houses at Cranmore Estate, Sligo, and the conditions being imposed on local authority tenants where full funding is being provided through the Department; Deputy Owen, Ireland's attitude to President de Klerk's announcements of 1 February 1991 regarding a number of pieces of apartheid legislation; Deputy Allen, the urgent need to introduce stronger legislation to control the problem of wandering horses in Cork; Deputy Doyle, if the Minister for the Marine will make representation to Sealink in order to prevent the closure of the container terminals at Dublin and Holyhead; Deputy Deasy, in respect of the closure of the Celtic Sea herring fishery; Deputy Cotter, in respect of the continued closure of Ballybay Meats factory; Deputy Deenihan, the growing problem of homeless young people, especially in the urban areas; Deputy Stagg, the proposed dumping by Dublin local authorities of the domestic and commercial waste from the Dublin area at a site in Kill, County Kildare; and Deputy Garland, the release of the Stag report on the disappearance of sea trout from Connemara and South Mayo, and the implications for the future of the salmon farming industry in Ireland, in particular the lack of urgency in dealing with this problem by the Department of the Marine.

I have selected for discussion the matters raised by the following Deputies: Deputy O'Toole, Deputy Deasy and Deputy Cotter.
