Vol. 404 No. 6

Written Answers. - Charter for Victims of Crime.

Richard Bruton

Question:

52 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice his views on whether it is appropriate that the Government establish a Charter for Victims of Crime, which would set out precise rights for these victims.

I am aware of media reports to the effect that the Irish Association of Victim Support and the Northern Ireland Federation of Victim Support Schemes intend to produce a Charter of Rights for Victims of Crime which would be presented to the Irish Government. If and when such a charter is received I shall consider it with interest.
