Vol. 404 No. 7

Written Answers. - Waterford Regional Hospital.

Austin Deasy

Question:

172 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health the original estimated cost of the new Regional Hospital in Waterford; and the latest projection as to the cost.

The total estimated cost, including building, fees and equipping for the Ardkeen Hospital development is in the region of £56 million. The final cost for the project will be influenced by several variables which cannot be predicted accurately and it is consequently not possible to give a precise projection as to final cost at this stage. However, all the information available to my Department indicates that costs are being kept in line with the approved budget for the project.
