32 Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for the Environment if it is intended to issue any guidelines on the way to protect buildings against radon gas accumulation; when the guidelines will be issued; if he will outline the main provisions; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
A guide to radon, entitled "Radon in Buildings", was published by the environmental research unit of my Department on 28 January last. It contains general information on radon and guidance on measures which can be taken to reduce radon accumulation in buildings. Copies of the publication have been placed in the Oireachtas Library.
