Vol. 404 No. 7

Written Answers. - Kenmare, Kerry, Sewerage Scheme.

Michael Moynihan

Question:

48 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for the Environment if, in view of the present serious position of the existing sewerage system in Kenmare, County Kerry, he will make provision for the necessary financial allocation to Kerry County Council to provide a new sewerage scheme.

A preliminary report for a new sewerage scheme to serve Kenmare was submitted to my Department in July 1990. However, following a technical assessment, it was agreed with Kerry County Council that the report should be revised. I understand that the revised report is to be submitted to my Department shortly. As the proposal is at an early stage at planning, the question of providing funds does not arise at this stage.
