Vol. 404 No. 7

Written Answers. - Tenant Purchase Scheme.

Michael Noonan

Question:

58 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for the Environment the total number of purchase applications by local authority tenants, under the 1988 tenant purchase scheme; the total number of such applicants who have commenced repayments; the total number of applicants who are still awaiting the go ahead to commence repayments; the reasons for the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 5, 11, 24 and 111 of 7 February 1989. The administration of the scheme is a matter for individual local authorities who were requested to complete sales as quickly as possible.
