Vol. 404 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Longford Land Division.

Louis J. Belton

Question:

137 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the present position in relation to the application of a person (details supplied) in County Longford for part of an estate (details supplied).

As the allocation of land is a matter reserved by law to the Land Commissioners I have no function in the matter.

I understand however that when proposals for the disposal of this estate were being finalised this applicant was fully considered but it was not possible to accommodate him. The estate has now been allotted — except for a small area of bog.

Question:

138 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the present position with regard to the application of a person (details supplied) in County Longford for land from an estate (details supplied).

As the allocation of land is a matter reserved by law to the Land Commissioners I have no function in the matter.

However I understand that proposals for the disposal of the balance of this estate are being finalised with a view to early allotment. The application in question will be fully considered before allotment takes place.
