Vol. 405 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax-Free Allowance.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

53 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the correct tax-free allowance applicable to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who is currently participating in a FÁS scheme and has a wife and one child; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that an amended certificate of tax-free allowances totalling £4,900, tax deductible at Table R (30 per cent) for the current tax year 1990-91, will be issued to the taxpayer shortly. He should be advised to reply to the inspector's letter of 8 January 1991, so that his overall liability can be reviewed and any tax over-deducted repaid.
