Vol. 405 No. 1

Written Answers. - Limerick Building Acquisition.

Michael Noonan

Question:

59 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to a submission made by the proprietors of the Theatre Royal, Limerick, for the acquisition of the building beside the threatre, occupied by his Department; if he has examined the submission; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The employment exchange in question, which is held on lease by the Commissioners of Public Works, is being replaced by a new building. In the event of it becoming surplus to the State's requirements it is the intention to offer the property for sale on the open market. I am not aware of any written submission made by the owners of the adjoining premises, nor is the Minister for Social Welfare.
