Question:

162 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the estimated quantities of (a) live cattle, (b) beef, (c) milk products, (d) sheepmeat, (e) pigmeat and (f) cereals, imported into the EC from Eastern Europe during (i) 1989 and (ii) 1990; and the quantities in each case which were in compliance with EC regulations.

The information sought by the Deputy regarding the volume of agricultural imports into the European Community from Eastern Europe is set out in the following table. I have no information to suggest that the total volumes shown were not imported in compliance with Community regulations.
