Michael Finucane

Question:

163 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

This applicant has already been paid his grants under the 1990 cattle and equines headage and suckler cow premium schemes. He did not apply under the 1990 special beef premium scheme.

164 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a beef premium grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

Payments due to this applicant under the 1990 special beef premium schemes are being processed and will issue shortly.

165 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will now pay headage grants due to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

This applicant has already been paid his grants under the 1990 cattle and equines headage and suckler cow premium schemes.

166 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will now pay headage grants due to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

Payments due to this applicant under the 1989 special beef premium and calf premium schemes and under the 1990 cattle and equines headage and special beef premium schemes have already been made.

His payment under the 1989 cattle and equines headage scheme is being processed and will issue shortly. This payment was delayed pending receipt of a completed form regarding lands he had rented.

167 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the present position regarding the payment of reactor grants to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

The reactor grants due to the person named have been paid.

168 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a grant for a person (details supplied) in County Kerry was passed by the local office for payment; and when the applicant can expect to receive same.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible. The completion of the work in this case was certified by the local office on the 12 February 1991.

169 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a headage grant and beef premium grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

180 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a suckler cow and a beef premium will issue, for 1990 to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will expedite same.

181 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange early payment of a beef subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

186 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a suckler cow subsidy and a beef subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose taking Questions Nos. 169, 180, 181 and 186 together.

Payments due to the applicants named are being processed and will issue shortly.

The person named in Deputy Farrelly's question is also an applicant under the EC suckler cow scheme for small scale milk producers. Payments under this scheme are not due to commence until next July. If the applicant is found to be eligible payment will issue to him in or after July.

170 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a cattle headage grant and reactor grant payment will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

This applicant's payments under the 1990 cattle and equines headage and special beef premiums scheme are being processed and will issue shortly.

The reactor grants will be paid as soon as possible.

171 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a headage grant and beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and the reason for the delay in issuing payment.

The grant due to this applicant under the 1990 special beef premium scheme will issue as soon as possible. He did not apply under any other 1990 cattle scheme. The delay in making the payment is due to teething problems encountered in the new administrative arrangements introduced for the implementation of the scheme this year.

Liam Aylward

Question:

172 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange immediate payment of a farm development grant for a slatted unit to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the work was inspected and passed some months ago.

Notification of the completion of the work in this case was received at the end of January. It will now be inspected and if found satisfactory the grant will be paid as soon as possible.

Michael Moynihan

Question:

173 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the total number of applications received by Bord Fáilte for the development of agri-tourism projects; the number that have been approved; and the number which have completed the developments.

To date 51 applications have been received by Bord Fáilte under the scheme of grant aid for investments in agri-tourism which operates in the less favoured areas. Work has been completed and grant paid in respect of 16 of these projects and approval for grant aid has issued in respect of a further 20 applications.

Question:

174 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange for a creamery (details supplied) in County Offaly to release a cheque from his Department payable to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

My Department have made the appropriate refund in this case. The settling of the producer's debt is a matter for resolution between the co-operative and the producer concerned.
