Question:202 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Labour if he will outline his response to the submission received from the Scheme Workers Alliance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I met with representatives from the Scheme Workers Alliance on 5 December last. During the course of the meeting I invited the alliance to submit their views in writing and at the same time assured them that I would give serious consideration to their views. The press statement issued on my behalf after that meeting sets out my initial response to the alliance.
The detailed submission from the alliance was received by me on 15 January and I am having the various points made in it examined in detail.
