Vol. 405 No. 3

Written Answers. - Darndale Refurbishment Scheme.

Patrick McCartan

Question:

255 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for the Environment the amount spent to date on the refurbishment scheme for Darndale, Dublin 17; the amount of this money which was sourced in the EC; the conditions which were attached to the payment of EC moneys, if any, and the future EC support which will be available or sought for the project.

Question:

256 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for the Environment when his Department received an application for approval of tender for phase 3 of the Darndale redesign project from Dublin Corporation; and when he will be in a position to sanction the tender and allow the next phase to proceed.

I propose to take Question Nos. 255 and 256 together. Information supplied by Dublin Corporation indicates that the expenditure on this project under the remedial works scheme to the end of December 1990 amounted to £3,083,000. There is no financial support available from the European Community for this type of project. The corporation's proposals for the acceptance of a tender for Phase 3, which were received in the Department on 28 November 1990, have been approved.
