Vol. 405 No. 3

Written Answers. - Donegal Town Hospital Extension.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

287 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Health if there are any plans to provide an extension to Donegal Town Hospital; the extra accommodation which is being planned; and when he expects work to commence on the project.

The North Western Health Board will be completing plans in the coming months for the provision of a psychiatric/community mental health day centre at Donegal Town Hospital. The board expects to be in a position to commence working on the building at the end of the year. Discussions are also taking place with an interested party concerning the provision of sheltered housing on the site.

The North Western Health Board also hopes to provide a small number of additional long stay beds and physiotherapy services at the hospital as part of its long-term development plans.
