298 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of (1) the further efficiency savings and (2) savings due to the restructuring of borrowing, which he has indicated will be made this year within the Health Estimate.
It is expected that a further £2.5 million will be generated through increased efficiency to help fund the community care developments, which were identified in the Budget Statement of the Minister for Finance.
A number of loans have been negotiated by the Department on behalf of the health agencies, mainly for the provision of hospital equipment. These loans have a flexible repayment structure, which should enable savings to be made this year.
