Vol. 405 No. 3

Written Answers. - National Community Games.

Mervyn Taylor

Question:

314 Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for Education if Santry Stadium, Dublin 9 can be made available to the National Community Games for the weekends of 13/14 July and 20/21 July in view of the fact that (1) this is the only venue big enough to cater for 10,000 children (2) it has been used by them since the stadium was first built and (3) the competitions have already been arranged for those dates on the assumption that the stadium would be available in the normal way this year; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Responsibility for the allocation of the dates and times of use of Morton Stadium, Santry, is a matter for the management committee of the stadium. I understand that arrangements have been made to accommodate the requirements of the Dublin Community Games on 6/7 July and 20/21 July, 1991.
