Vol. 405 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tulsk (Roscommon) Monument.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

65 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Finance if his Department have surveyed the Bronze Age inauguration site at Carnfree, Tulsk, County Roscommon for designation as a national monument; and if public access will be provided to the monument.

John Connor

Question:

147 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Finance if he plans to take in charge as a national monument the Bronze Age inauguration site at Carnfree, Tulsk, County Roscommon; and if public access to the monument will be provided.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 65 and 147 together.

A preliminary survey of Carnfree, which is a site registered under the National Monuments Acts, was carried out in the mid eighties. Funds are not currently available to take it into State care nor to provide public access.
