Vol. 405 No. 3

Written Answers. - Use of Recycled Paper.

John Bruton

Question:

109 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline the progress which has been made since his reply to a previous parliamentary question on the subject in 1989 by the Government Supplies Agency in increasing the use of recycled paper in Government activities.

The Government Supplies Agency now hold stocks of different sorts of recycled paper based mainly on the requirements of the Department of the Environment. Other Departments have been given samples of recycled paper for testing purposes.

With the transfer of funding for stationery and printing from the Government Supplies Agency to individual Departments and offices with effect from 1 January 1990, the agency can now only respond to the requests they receive.
