120 Mr. Deasy asked the Taoiseach the number of people in this country employed in the manufacturing industry where the raw material is agricultural produce originating in Ireland.
Information from the 1988 Census of Industrial Production shows that 88 per cent of materials used in the food, drink and leather sectors were produced in Ireland. Provisional employment in establishments with three or more persons engaged in these sectors in September 1990 was estimated to be 41,900.
