Vol. 405 No. 3

Written Answers. - Pay Level for General Operatives.

Edward Nealon

Question:

126 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Defence if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the level of pay for general operatives working for his Department compares very unfavourably with comparable pay levels elsewhere; whether this anomaly is being examined; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A pay claim on behalf of general operatives in Government Departments has been lodged at the Joint Industrial Council for State Employees. This claim is currently under discussion.
