177 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education if she intends to provide a degree course in the Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork; if this will involve an extra year being added to the three-year course; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
Proposals for the establishment of two degree courses in the Crawford College of Art and Design, have been made to my Department by City of Cork Vocational Education Committee.
The BA in art proposal envisages a four year structure, with the national diploma in art continuing to be awarded after year three. The BA in Art and Design Education proposal is for a one year course, open to holders of national diplomas in art or design.
