Question:

87 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether a person (details supplied) in County Cork is eligible to apply for the 1990 special beef premium scheme.

As this applicant did not apply for 1990 special beef premium until 10 August 1990. Seven days after the extended closing date of 3 August 1990 for receipt of applications under that scheme, I regret that his application cannot be accepted.

Question:

89 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a cattle headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

My Department have asked this applicant to forward a five year lease as evidence of his intention to continue farming in the disadvantaged areas for five years as required under the 1990 cattle and equines headage scheme. When he does so, his application will be considered further.
