Question:150 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Justice the percentage of the total work force in his Department which consists of registered disabled people.

Departmental records indicate that about 1 per cent of staff serving in areas of the Civil Service for which I have responsibility were recruited from competitions confined to disabled persons. The percentage is based on staff serving in my own Department, the Land Registry and Registry of Deeds, the courts, the Legal Aid Board, the Garda Complaints Board and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner and civilian staff serving in Garda offices and stations.
