149 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Energy if, in the event of any reduction in peat production at any of the Bord na Móna plants in County Kildare, he will be informed of any such proposals prior to implementation; if he will outline his likely reaction to such proposals; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The question of determining the production levels at any of the Bord na Móna plants is a matter for the board of the company. While in the case of any significant proposal of this kind the Minister would expect to be informed in advance, it would not be possible to speculate about possible reaction to hypothetical cases.
