188 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline in the case of each county and county borough council (a) the rate support grant per capita using the 1986 census date for 1990 and 1991, (b) the net revenues from commercial rates in 1990 and those forecast for 1991 and (c) the aggregate sum in departmental grants for road repairs and construction, other than national primary routes and motorways, paid in 1990.
The information in respect of local authority estimates of commercial rates revenue in 1991 and the amount of road grants, excluding national primary routes and motorways, paid in 1990 by my Department, is set out in the following table. As population is not a factor in the allocation of the rate support grant, the information in the form requested is not available in my Department. Pending the submission of their 1990 abstracts of accounts, information on local authority revenue from commercial rates in 1990 is not available.
