Peter Barry

Question:

192 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for the Environment when the Glanmire by-pass in County Cork will be opened for use.

Question:

193 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for the Environment when the Dunkettle bridge in County Cork will be rebuilt; and when the link-up with the new by-pass roadworks will be finished.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 192 and 193 together.

I understand from Cork County Council, who are responsible for the implementation of the Glanmire by-pass project, that they expect to open the new road to traffic in November 1991.

The work still to be carried out includes completion of the new roundabout at Dunkettle, construction of the road from the new to the existing roundabout, completion of bridge M1 at Dunkettle, installation of traffic route lighting and landscaping.
