Vol. 406 No. 7

Written Answers. - Leixlip (Kildare) College.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

240 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if she will consider making the necessary provision to the Kildare VEC to enable them to appoint a secretary to Confey College, Leixlip, County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

County Kildare VEC have recently been advised that two clerical grade 3 posts have been allocated to that committee by my Department.

It is now a matter for the vocational education committee to decide how these posts should be deployed in order to best serve the needs of the committee, including their schools.

Question:

241 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if she will meet with the parents representatives of Confey College, Leixlip, County Kildare with a view to discussing the requirements of the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I have already indicated to the parents association that I would be pleased to arrange a meeting. My office will be arranging an appropriate date and time for the meeting with the parents representatives.

I have also already agreed to visit the school.
