246 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education if she will confirm that plans are now prepared for the £1.5 million regional sports complex in Athlone, County Westmeath; when these plans will be available for inspection; and when she expects work to commence on this centre.

A number of consortia were invited by my Department to submit proposals for the design, construction and management of the Athlone regional sports centre complex. These proposals, including plans for the centre, are now under consideration.
