Vol. 406 No. 7

Written Answers. - Shannon Stop Over.

Nora Owen

Question:

70 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications the up to date position on his discussions with interested parties on the issue of the stop over at Shannon Airport for all transatlantic flights.

I have received in recent months submissions from a number of organisations and individuals for and against the Shannon stop policy. In this context, both the Fly Dublin Direct Committee and the Shannon Status Committee sought meetings with me. On 6 March 1991, I met a delegation from the Shannon Status Committee and I am due to meet the Fly Dublin Direct Committee shortly.
