Jim Higgins

Question:

83 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for the Marine the cost of refurbishing and re-equipping Ballina Port, County Mayo with a view to bringing it back into usage for shipping purposes.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 82 and 83 together.

River Moy Commissioners are the governing body of Ballina Port and are statutorily required to take all proper measures for the management, control and operation of Ballina Port. The question of the refurbishment, re-equipping and essential dredging of the port are matters for the commissioners.
