Donal Carey

Question:

165 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid his cattle headage grant; and when the file was passed in the Ennis office.

This applicant has already been paid his grants under the 1990 cattle and equines headage and special beef premium schemes. His 1990 cattle and equines headage and special beef premium were approved by the local office on 14 November 1990 and 10 December 1990 respectively.

167 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a beef subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

171 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

I propose taking Questions Nos. 167 and 171 together.

These applicants have already been paid their grants under the 1990 special beef premium scheme.

John Ellis

Question:

168 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will pay a milk cessation grant to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

Under this scheme the premium payment is issued in the period 1 April — 30 June each year. This year's instalment of premium will be lodged to the bank account of the person named shortly.

Question:

169 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a cattle premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

This applicant's payments under the 1990 suckler cow and special beef premium schemes are being processed at present and will issue shortly.

170 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a beef subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Payment to this applicant under the 1990 suckler cow premium scheme has already been made. He did not apply under the 1990 special beef premium scheme.

172 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in payment of a farm development grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment will issue.

The grant will be paid within the next few days. There was no particular delay in this payment.

Question:

173 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Meath will receive payment of the remaining part of his sheep premium and beef subsidy for 1990; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This applicant's payment under the 1990 special beef premium is being processed and will issue shortly.

He will be paid the final instalment of the 1990 ewe premium within the next two weeks.

Question:

174 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when beef subsidy and suckler cow subsidy grants owed from 1990 will be paid to farmers in County Meath and other parts of the country; if he will outline the numbers which have still to be paid; when payments will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

To date some 87 per cent of applicants have been paid grants under the 1990 suckler cow and special beef premium schemes in Meath and other parts of the country. The remaining cases are mainly query cases which will be paid if and when it is determined that grants are due.
