Question:249 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment if he will list the current numbers on local authority housing waiting lists for each housing authority.

I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 29, 70 and 73 of 28 February 1990 which details the results of the assessment of housing need under Section 9 of the Housing Act, 1988 carried out by local authorities at 30 September 1989.
On 7 December 1990 I requested housing authorities to carry out the second such assessment to reflect the position at 31 March 1991 and to furnish the results to my Department not later than 30 April 1991.
