My responsibilities for the arts include responsibility for such bodies as the Arts Council and the National Gallery and non-statutory responsibilities for such bodies as the National Concert Hall and the Irish Museum of Modern Art. By reason of these statutory and non-statutory responsibilities I am responsible for the general Government overview and promotion of the arts. It is my policy to discharge all these responsibilities with full regard to the requirements of all areas of the country.
