Vol. 407 No. 1

Written Answers. - Charitable Status Tax Concessions.

Bernard Allen

Question:

127 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Finance if he will indicate the organiasations that have charitable status under the Income Tax Act, 1967 and the Corporation Tax Act, 1976.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that their obligation to observe confidentiality in relation to the taxation affairs of taxpayers precludes them from giving the information requested by the Deputy. In any event the Revenue Commissioners have not compiled the information sought and a detailed examination of individual tax files, which could be carried out only at a disproportionate cost, would be required to obtain it.
