Vol. 407 No. 9

Written Answers. - Local Improvement Scheme.

Neil T.C. Blaney

Question:

58 Mr. Blaney asked the Minister for the Environment if he will have a public inquiry into allegations by a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan of fraud and forgery arising out of an application for grant under the local improvement scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The administration of the local improvements scheme has been devolved to the country councils and is a matter for them.

In view of the question, I propose to take the matter up with Monaghan County Council. In the meantime, if the Deputy has any information which he feels would facilitate this process, he might forward the information to me.
