Question:

68 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consider increasing the rate support grant to Longford County Council by £538,700 to enable the council to meet the financial commitments referred to in a letter sent by Deputy Belton to his office on 30 April 1991.

I refer the Deputy to the reply to Question No. 167 of 18 December 1990. Longford County Council's 1991 rate support grant was increased in line with that of other local authorities and a further increase as suggested does not arise.
