Question:

80 Mr. Allen asked the Taoiseach the quantity of unprocessed timber exported from Ireland in the years 1989 and 1990 and to date in 1991.

The information requested by the Deputy is given in the following table. January 1991 is the latest month for which this information is available.

In general it should be noted that commodity detail from external trade statistics does not include:— (a) transactions (non-dutiable) of less than £200; (b) trade by firms operating in Shannon Free Airport; and (c) postal packages not covered by customs entries.
