Vol. 408 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Leitrim Pension Application.

John Ellis

Question:

123 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Social Welfare the present position regarding the old age pension appeal made by a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

The person's application for old age non-contributory pension was disallowed by a deciding officer because his means exceeded the statutory limit. He appealed this decision to the independant social welfare appeals office. An oral hearing of the appeal was recently held by an appeals officer who is considering his decision at present. The appeals office will notify the Deputy of the result of the appeal shortly.
