Vol. 408 No. 1

Written Answers. - Flats Register.

John Browne

Question:

128 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for the Environment if he intends to introduce, in conjunction with the health boards, a register of flats where the name of the owner and the condition of the flat is noted, as this will help eliminate the many sub-standard flats being rented to people throughout the country.

I have no proposal to introduce such a register. I would, however, refer the Deputy to the new safeguards for tenants in the private rented sector, as announced in A Plan for Social Housing.
